Car hire makes
it possible to access areas of interest with
Port Douglas to the north (approx
35 mins) via a coastal scenic drive, then continue
through to the World Heritage Daintree
Rainforest. A short drive south takes
you to the city of Cairns where
abundant shopping and nightlife abounds.
A journey along
the range road to the west takes you through
the mountains and rainforest to arrive at the
tourist village of Kuranda
which is famous for its markets and is also
accessible by Skyrail
(Cable Car) or the Kuranda Tourist Train.
It is then via this road that leads you to the
Tropical Tablelands where many
activities are available including Hot
Air Ballooning, pristine waterfalls
and swimming holes to explore as well as an
amazing diversity of wildlife.
Attractions within
walking distance to Golftel
are numerous beachside cafes, bars, restaurants,
watersports, health spas and shopping in the
local village.
The beachfront
of Palm
Cove is nestled in the shady recesses
of melaleuca and palm trees. Cooking facilities
as well as tables and seating make the beachfront
and ideal location for a relaxing day in the
sun.
A recently built
Shopping Complex has been completed in Clifton
Beach (approx 5 mins from Palm
Cove) for the convenience of the Northern
Beaches making grocery shopping during
your stay a whole lot easier.
Transport in Cairns
Northern Beaches is available through a network
of transit facilities including Sunbus,
local tour operators, charter
coaches and a local taxi company. Transfers
are also available to and from Cairns
International Airport.
